Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis

Qingdao is the biggest city of Shangdong Province, China. It is also considered as the major naval base, seaport and industrial centre of that country. In today’s blog, we are going to present the new cultural addition that it is going to see this city and how it is expected to project into the future.

On the 22nd of September, 2013, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Travolta, Nicole Kidman and many other Hollywood superstars appeared together in the opening ceremony of Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis.

Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis is an unprecedented project that was conceived to get over Hollywood. It is funded by China’s richest man Wang Jianlin, who is the head of the multi-company Dalian Wanda Group. Mr Wang wants to make a combination of film centre and family theme park to become the Chinese version of the Hollywood cinema city.

A huge amount of money will be invested on this plan. In return, it is estimated that it will bring many benefits. Among them, we can cite an increase in the number of tourists visiting Qingdao together with the enhancement of the cultural industry level in this city, the development of China’s global cultural brands and the transformation of Qingdao into an international film and television cultural tourism city.

Current projections say that many national and foreign films will be shot in Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis after its completion. The world-class infrastructure that will have when finished, has made this project to win the recognition from a number of reputable film producers.

In conclusion, Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis is a massive project that will be like people has never seen before. It will help the Chinese movie industry to consolidate its presence in the global stage. I am sure that not only the students learning Mandarin at our language school in London, but also people who are interested in the Chinese culture are very anxious to see its realization.
