Boris Johnson and George Osborn suggest that Britons should learn Mandarin Chinese if they want to succeed doing business with China.

Since the beginning of the globalization of China, the Chinese market has always been the object of envy by the rest of the world. It is now almost impossible to think in a country that does not want to build business relationships with China; and United Kingdom is not one of the exceptions.

This week, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson and the Chancellor of the Exchequer of United Kingdom George Osborn are both visiting China. They are aimed to deliver a unique message on behalf of UK and its capital city: ‘Britain is open for business’.

During their stay in China, they have given a talk at Beijing University, which is a major Chinese research institution. In their presentation, they put emphasis on that Britain has not considered China as a ‘sweatshop’ for a very long time. They also called for more strengthening and understanding between the two nations to develop the business partnership.

The Chancellor and the Major mentioned that their two kids are studying Mandarin Chinese right now, and that one of them will go to visit Beijing soon. Boris also took advantage of his personal situation to even envisage all London schools teaching Mandarin Chinese language. He was probably thinking on British businessmen negotiating with their Chinese counterparts in equal terms regarding to the language.

In conclusion, as China is developing very fast, it offers myriad of opportunities. These are attracting individuals and companies from many different countries that are willing to do business with or in China. At the moment, not only in the UK (in Mandarin language schools like first4mandarin), but also in many other countries, people are learning Mandarin Chinese. They believe that by doing so, they are moving a step forward towards entering the Chinese market.
